Rooms
Staircase
Getting to the guest rooms will be a delight for our guests. The staircase from the first to second floor is a marvel in decorative woodwork performed by master craftsman from the time of the construction of the house in 1897. There are 2 landings prior to getting to the second floor, both of which have an original and beautiful stained glass window.

Hallway
All rooms on the second floor are connected by a long central hallway running from the front of the house by the stained glass window to a rear staircase. The floor in the hallway is hardwood with oriental throw rugs.
Rooms
All of our available rooms are located on the 2nd floor of the house. There are 3 rooms total, each with a private bath. All rooms have air conditioners. Each room is named for a town in the area of the Bed and Breakfast.
Middlebury
The town of Middlebury is approximately 10 miles from Bristol . There are a number of fine restaurants, shopping and Middlebury College located in Middlebury.
The Middlebury room is bright and sunny with peach overtones. It has three large curved turret windows and one regular window trimmed with lacy curtains. Three of the windows have curved glass and well-preserved woodwork, this is not something you will find in many homes and is a real must-see. This room is located in the front corner of the second floor. The windows look north and west out on to North and Spring Street. The hardwood floors have been beautifully refinished and are covered with area rugs. There is a large closet for hanging your clothing. A double and a twin bed, covered with hand-made quilts, are in the room. Private bath is down the hall.
Starksboro
The town of Starksboro is a small farming community approximately 8 miles north of Bristol on Route 116. In season there is a wonderful farm stand featuring locally grown Vermont products.
The Starksboro room is also bright and sunny with a southern exposure through 4 large windows. In addition to the beautifully refinished hardwood floor, the trim around the windows and doors has been masterfully restored. There is an adjoining dressing area with closet. The archway between the bedroom and dressing room has very decorative woodwork. This room is decorated in mint green colors. A mahogany four-poster bed overlooks the rose garden. Private bath with a whirlpool tub.
Bristol Suite
The town of Bristol is where the Bed and Breakfast is located. It is currently going through a revival due to its relative proximity to Burlington. Many of the stores on main street have been recently purchased, refurbished and opened under new management. Although it is reawakening as a community it still maintains its small town Vermont charm and feel. There are a number of wonderful restaurants depending on what the consumer desires - from dining elegance to comfort food. In addition you can shop for items ranging from small children's clothing to boots and candles. There is a pharmacy and grocery store 4 blocks from the Bed and Breakfast, well within walking distance.
This room was the master bedroom for the original owner, William Lawrence. This room is beautifully appointed with all of the extras. The coal fireplace with oak mantle and large beveled glass mirror still has the original tile and decorative cast iron grill. This suite consists of 3 adjoining rooms - the master bedroom, a dressing room with 2 large closets and dressing table and a bathroom. The bathroom has the original claw foot bathtub and soapstone sink.
In addition to the closets in the dressing room there is an additional closet in the master bedroom - this suite is a must see. The woodwork over the archway between the bedroom and dressing room is very decorative in true Victorian style. Private bath with Claw foot tub and shower surround for either bath or shower.
